Classroom Guidance

What is Classroom Guidance? Classroom guidance allows the classroom guidance teacher access to all the students in the building for character education and relationship building which opens doors for students to feel more comfortable speaking to their teachers when problems arise. By visiting each classroom throughout the school year, a classroom guidance teacher is able to build upon lessons over the course of the year as well as from one year to the next. They can also address issues specific to the individual needs of each classroom. The classroom guidance teacher is an advocate for all the children he or she serves.

Classroom Guidance topics focus on teaching children to make positive choices and build good character. Some of the character traits that may be addressed are good manners, kindness, respect, responsibility, cooperation, and honesty,
