Energy Expo - April 22nd 2008

Nauttikka Genz, Albert Genz, and Khamar Matthews explore “the future of renewable energy” while perusing the F.E.R.N exhibit (Fishermen’s Energy of New Jersey), Cape May City Elementary School “Energy Expo”, held on April 22, 2008.

Conor Kennedy (“Energy Man”), CiAne Vasser, Kelly Serfass, and Dennis Canchola (“    Volt You More”), demonstrate energy saving solutions using wind and solar cell powered models, at Cape May City Elementary School “Energy Expo”, held on April 22, 2008.

The Cat In the Hat

The Cat In the Hat visited the students at Cape May City Elementary School as part of their Read Across America celebration.

The students at Cape May City Elementary School celebrated Read Across America with a slumber party. The students wore their pajamas and read books during their lunch period.

Pajama Day was a big hit at Cape May City Elementary School. The kindergarten students enjoyed listening to Dr. Seuss stories while lounging in their pajamas. This was one of the many activities scheduled during the month of March for Read Across America.

Fancy Friday

The first graders at Cape May City Elementary School celebrated Fancy Friday. We read “Fancy Nancy” by Jane O’Conner, learned some fancy words, and had some fancy treats. We are trying to fancy authors!

Second grade students from Cape May City Elementary School create handmade paper featuring horseshoe crabs.

This special presentation was given by artist Winnie Radolin of the Ecological Research & Development Group to educate children on our local, prehistoric, sea creature. Excellence in Handwriting

The Cape May City Elementary School promotes Excellence in Handwriting by participating in the Zaner-Bloser National Handwriting Contest.

“Mrs. Neuman’s first grade class had a great time celebrating St. Patrick’s Day! We made Irish Potatoes. Then our fifth grade Reading Buddies from Ms. Dilfield’s class helped us all turn into leprechauns!”

Kate Pratt, a volunteer for the Juvenile Diabetic Research Foundation, prepares her table for the first ever Cape May City Elementary School Health and Wellness Fair.  Members of the community, along with students and staff of the school enjoyed a wide range of health-related presentations, including the Cape May County 4-H’s exhibit called “Get Moving, Get Healthy” which featured information on exercise and nutrition.  Free chair messages were provided by the Well Center for Message of West Cape May, while health screenings were given by Cape Regional Medical Center.”
