Working onpaper airplanes!

 

 

In school this week we will be working on a fun lesson to improve our fine motor skills, throwing, searching the internet, measurement and learning some history about planes. We will be making and flying paper airplanes and testing how well they fly.                                                                                               

 

Swim Class

 

In swim class the 3rd grade is working on breathing under water, and flutter kick, and swimming under water.

 

The 4th grade is working on their basics for freestyle, arms, legs, and good breathing.  Also they will be working on the fin and kick swim as a survival skill in the water.

 

The 5th and 6th grade are working on improving technique. We will be also focusing on diving and turns.

 

 

We do play waterpolo in class as a fun game that teaches teamwork and swimming skills at the same time.

 

Special Projects

                              

                                 

1.    The Fifth grade will be starting their marking period project on fitness and nutrition.

 

2.    Soon we will be starting a “Fitness Month” activity with the primary grade students during lunch recess to get them more active. Each Friday for one month the Sixth grade students will be organizing activities for the primary grades to participate in physical fitness activities.

 

The After School Sports program meets each Monday and Wednesday from 3:05 to 3:45. To sign up please pick up a permission slip from Mr. Holden at his office.
