Mrs. Leonard

Our first through sixth grade students are creating art inspired by the work of great American artists.  Along with hands-on exposure to various art media and techniques, the children are learning about artists through art reproductions, books, and biographical information.

Some of the American artists that we’re discovering are Alexander Calder, Winslow Homer, Keith Haring, Mary Cassatt, Frank Lloyd Wright, Andy Warhol, Louise Nevelson, John James Audubon, Jackson Pollack, Anna Mary Robertson (Grandma) Moses, Edward Hopper, and many others.

Some classes will also explore and create artwork in the style of our Native American people.
